Fresh Blueberry Pie

  • 1 unbaked pie shell
  • 2 tablespoon (30 ml) flour
  • ½ cup (120 ml) white sugar
  • ⅛ teaspoon (.625 ml) salt


  • 4 cups (960 ml) fresh blueberries
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) margarine or butter


Preheat the oven to 450°F/232°C.

Line a 9” (23cm) unbaked pie shell (homemade or store bought is suitable).  Mix together flour, sugar and salt. Sprinkle ¼ of the mixture on the uncooked crust; add blueberries; add remainder of sugar mixture; sprinkle with lemon juice; dot with margarine or butter.  Adjust top crust.  

Bake in a hot oven, 450°F/232°C for 15 minutes; reduce heat to 350°F/100°C; continue baking until berries are tender.
